5/3 Saturday - Drive to Deadman’s trailhead. Hike to Great Gallery 1.37 miles, Descent 631 ft, Ascent 87 feet. Reverse for return trip. Great Gallery to Alcove Gallery 1.07 miles, Ascent 568 ft, Descent 484 ft. Alcove Gallery to High Gallery .68 miles, Ascent 114 ft, Descent 288 ft.

5/4 Sunday - Drive from Goblin Valley CG to Ding & Dang trailhead, ~2-4 miles, less than 15 mins. Ding & Dang trails 6 miles, ~3.5 hrs All Trails Map This semi-technical canyoneering route is rated as a class 4 hike or 2A II on the ACA canyoneering scale. It requires down climbing short drops of about 10-12 feet. Technical gear is not needed to complete this route and a rope and rappelling are not required. That being said, a rope may be helpful as a hand line for the average hiker.

Continue drive down Wild Horse rd to Factory Butt. Check out Moonscape Overlook via Skyline View or Coal Mine road. Then to Caineville, ~60 miles, 2 hrs. Drive to Cathedral Valley campground (first come, first served), 34.7 miles, 2 hr, 9 min. Camp. Check out Bentonite Hills, Lower South Desert overlook, Above Temples Viewpoint, Upper South Desert Overlook, using Upper South Desert trail, Upper Cathedral Valley trail, on the way to Cathedral Valley CG. Camp at Cathedral Valley CG.

Drive to Cathedral Valley campground, 34.7 miles, 2 hr, 9 min. Camp. Check out Bentonite Hills, Lower South Desert overlook, Above Temples Viewpoint, Upper South Desert Overlook, using Upper South Desert trail, Upper Cathedral Valley trail, on the way to Cathedral Valley CG. Camp. Check current road conditions by calling 435-425-3791. Press #1 for information, and then #4 for road conditions.

5/5 Monday - Cathedrals Trail to Cathedral Mountain, 6903 feet, 2.5 miles, 324 feet elevation gain, ~1 hr. Continue drive of Cathedral Valley Loop, ~35 miles, 2 hrs. Check out Gypsum Sinkhole, Glass Mountain, Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Moon. Back to Caineville.

Drive to Hell’s Backbone rd., 68.5 miles, 1 hr, 30 mins. Drive Hell’s Backbone rd. to Escalante, UT, 40.4 miles, 1 hr, 54 min. Map Drive down Smokey Mountain rd., Camp on BLM Land.

5/6 Tuesday – Continue down Smokey Mtn rd. to Death Ridge rd. to Horse Mtn rd. to Fourmile Canyon/Last Chance rd. to Fourmile Bench rd., check out Grosvenor Arch, drive to Cottonwood Canyon rd., ~65 miles, 3 hrs, 53 min.

Drive north on Cottonwood Canyon rd. to Kodachrome Basin State Park, 10.5 miles, 26 mins. Angel's Palace Trail, 1.5-mile loop trail near Cannonville, Utah. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 40 min to complete.

Drive to Hiway 89, 40 miles, 1 hr, 43 min. Check out Cottonwood Narrows South to North trail, 3.2 miles, 193 feet elevation gain. All Trails Map Explore Cottonwood Narrows, a beautiful slot canyon within Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. This route takes you from the south end to the north end of the canyon, but it is possible to do it in reverse as well. The north end of the canyon is narrower, so if starting from the south end it is well worth the journey. There are parking areas on both ends.

Drive to Cottonwood HooDoo trail, 10 miles, 26 mins. Hike Cottonwood HooDoo trail, 1.8 miles, 623 feet elevation gain, 1.8-mile out-and-back trail near Alton, Utah. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 11 min to complete.

Drive to White House CG, 19.6 miles, 45 mins; Individual campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Vault toilet.

5/7 Wednesday - Drive to White Rocks trailhead, 8.3 miles, 14 mins. Hike Whiterocks HooDoo loop, 5.4 mile loop, 380 feet. Generally considered a challenging route. This trail is great for hiking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. All Trails Map

Drive to House Rock rd, 21.8 miles, 26 mins. Drive House Rock rd to Winter rd to Fredonia, 45 miles, 1 hr, 45 mins. Drive to Shaman’s Gallery, ~50 miles, 2-3 hrs. Hike to Shaman's Gallery, 7.7 miles RT, 1800 feet elevation gloss/gain. Camp outside GCNP on BLM land.

5/8 - Drive to Goosenecks State Park, 223 miles, 3 hrs. Drive to Lower Butler Wash rd, 20 miles, 21 mins Check out Wolfman Panel petroglyph

5/9 – Back to Denver

5/7 – Drive out to Fredonia, maybe Pipe Spring National Monument.
